Where's the money?
The Foreign Ministry has asked the Orthodox Church’s charity organization Allileghii (Solidarity) to return more than 6 million euros that had been destined for victims of the December 2004 tsunami amid speculation that the funds were not used on food aid as had been intended.
It is unclear exactly what happened to the money. But Allileghii and the chicken producers’ union are locked in a dispute with the former claiming to have received moldy chickens and the latter saying it has only been paid a fraction of what it is owed by the Church organization.

Poros reservoir
Heard today that, due to the large amounts of ash around following the huge fire last summer, the inlet valve to the reservoir at Tzanata/Agia Erini has been closed up to yesterday. Hopefully it will start to fill up now.

They must be in water conservation mode already, we had no water for about 20 hours yesterday and today. Seriously though, I heard that a pump at Platies was struck by lightning. Temporary repairs have been made but a replacement part will take a couple of days.

Life in Greece
Life on the dark side of Greece
Some 4,000 people gathered in the center of Ptolemaida, northern Greece, yesterday to protest about the dealing and use of drugs in their city following the death of a 14-year-old girl there last week. The teenager died after taking drugs. It is thought that there are more than 200 youngsters using drugs in the area and protesters demanded that a local drug addiction treatment unit be set up in the area. They also want authorities to do something about the abandoned buildings in Ptolemaida that are used by drug addicts.

Microsoft 'spyware'
Microsoft is developing Big Brother-style software capable of remotely monitoring a worker’s productivity, physical wellbeing and competence.
The Times has seen a patent application filed by the company for a computer system that links workers to their computers via wireless sensors that measure their metabolism. The system would allow managers to monitor employees’ performance by measuring their heart rate, body temperature, movement, facial expression and blood pressure.

Apple Mac targeted
We've just found the first Mac rogue application and it's called MacSweeper. It claims to clean your Mac from compromising files and it will always find something to fix/clean but the only way to do so is to buy the program. Once installed it will also randomly show a big popup window stating that your privacy is compromised and again prompt you to buy the program.
So what does the first Mac rogue application really mean? It means that with Mac's growing popularity and growing user base comes certain problems that can't be ignored. Mac users will increasingly come under attack from bad guys and this new rogue application and the constant stream of new variants of DNSChanger is proof of that. It doesn't mean that Mac is becoming less secure in and of itself. But it does mean that Mac users will have to watch out for social engineering tricks just like Windows users have had to do for years.
